Jerami Campbell

photo-49Jerami chose to be an English major because of her love of the written word and her desire to incorporate literature and art into her future career. After graduation in June 2014, she will be moving to New York City to pursue a teaching assistant position before applying to graduate school.

She is also the founder of Thurston Middle School’s Homework Club. According to Jerami, “Last year, as a junior in the English Department, I wanted to begin to build my resume and form new experiences. So, I began volunteering at a local middle school in Eugene and I loved it! After a little research I realized that my former middle school did not have an after school homework club; I contacted the administration and began a whole new program. Students are now able to join a few volunteers and me two days a week for help on homework. My goal is to expand the program to be every day and to gain more volunteers to come in and help students.”

Jerami is the main contact for the Homework Club. If you’re interested in volunteering or learning more, email Jerami Campbell at Jerami@uoregon.edu.
