Please join UO English for the 2019 Kingsley Weatherhead Lecture in Shakespeare Studies, featuring Professor Laurie Shannon. Professor Shannon's presentation is titled "Frailty's Name: Hamlet and Shakespeare's Natural History of Human Being."

Dr. Laurie Shannon is Franklyn Bliss Snyder Professor of Literature at Northwestern University. Her publications in early modern studies include The Accommodated Animal: Cosmopolity in Shakespearean Locales (2013) and Sovereign Amity: Figures of Friendship in Shakespearean Contexts (2002). She holds a PhD from the University of Chicago and a JD from Harvard University.
