Comics and Cartoon Studies

Comics and Cartoon Studies takes a critical perspective on the art of comics, from editorial cartoons to comic books to graphic novels. Comics combine images with words in a unique way in order to communicate with and emotionally engage the viewer/reader, requiring analysis and experimentation with the interaction of both visual and linguistic systems of meaning.

See the Comic and Cartoon Studies Affiliated Faculty for a list of faculty from other departments.
