Domestic Violence Awareness Month Toiletry Drive

10349944_425902167556903_3610227624159589777_nOctober is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and UO English is once again supporting the cause by making a donation site available. Look for the purple bin in 118 PLC, which will be available until November 16, 2017.

Life is so full of events and daily activities that sometimes it is hard to look back and see how the little things impact us. It isn’t until a time of need that one notices how much these once trivial things can mean the difference between comfort and struggle. We all have somehow been affected by domestic violence, whether that be through personal experience or the experience of someone we are close to. It’s hard to be experiencing something like domestic violence, especially when you also have to worry about something as basic as whether or not you’re going to be able to wash your hair or not. These strong women shouldn’t have to stress about basic toiletry items. That is why it’s important to donate – a little can go so far.

To that end,  the Women’s Center is once again collecting toiletries to support as many women as they can. This wouldn’t be possible without your help and donations. Thank you for supporting this cause and helping make a difference in these women’s lives!
