Emeritus Professor James Earl offers a free public lecture, “Reading the Meditations,” on Monday, February 26 at 7:00pm at the Baker Downtown Center (975 High Street, Eugene).

Professor Earl’s lecture serves as an introduction to his UO Insight Seminar on Marcus Aurelius, which will run on four consecutive Saturdays in March. Register here.

Marcus Aurelius was a Roman emperor who in his spare time wrote meditations on his Stoic philosophy of life. It is an enduring classic of the world’s great wisdom literature.
